Dr. Soother’s healthy wipes were invented by Dr. Steve Hodges, a Pediatric Urologist at Wake Forest University, whose daily practice involves children with debilitating “diaper pattern” skin irritation and recurrent bladder infections that are the direct consequence of urinary incontinence. The substances contained in urine not only irritate the skin, but also change the pH of the skin and change the skin’s bacterial flora. The resulting skin irritation and skin breakdown and pathologic bacteria in the skin increase the chances of repeat bladder infections.

Our wipes are specially formulated to remove the urine, soothe the skin and coat the skin with an astringent that restores normal pH thereby limiting abnormal bacterial growth.
